Dr. Gokaslan’s Patient and Her Family Share Her Story

“Evelyn @Eveyew and I are extremely grateful to Dr. Ziya Gokaslan for the care he and his team extended to our family when we needed his expert help as a world-renowned neurosurgeon.  When a serious illness came our way with a mass pressing the thoracic spinal cord, we had complete confidence and saw firsthand the professional, compassionate and competent care extended to patients in the Department of @BrownNSGY at @BrownUniversity @BrownMedicine and @LifespanHlthSys. The care in the OR, recovery room and neuro ICU over the past week have been exceptional and we believe as good as it gets.  Dr. Gokaslan successfully removed the tumor completely while sparing the nerves that were affected in a critical part of the upper spine a week ago. This was a difficult operation which further pointed to amazing surgical skill by an amazing person. It is great for us to be part of this community and to witness firsthand the impeccable highly specialized clinical care in Rhode Island that any of us would want for our family.”
