Background
Maria A. Guglielmo, MD, is a Neurosurgeon with the Norman Prince Neurosciences Institute. After she received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree from the Brown-Dartmouth Medical Program, Dr. Guglielmo completed a general surgery internship and neurosurgical residency at the Brown Program in Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Guglielmo’s practice also focuses on Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) and adult hydrocephalus and she has recently joined the clinical and research team of the multidisciplinary NPH clinic. Bringing extensive expertise and a patient-focused approach, Dr. Guglielmo is dedicated to enhancing diagnostic and treatment strategies for these conditions and is committed to improving patient outcomes and quality of life, ensuring that individuals with NPH and adult hydrocephalus receive the highest standard of multidisciplinary care.
Her clinical interests include adult spine surgery and neurosurgical treatments for chronic pain. Her research publications and presentations include work on transient forebrain ischemia and traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Guglielmo is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.
