Overview
Vascular neurological pathologies are a growing spectrum of diseases that require multidisciplinary assessment and treatment strategies. The Cerebrovascular Surgery and Endovascular Neurosurgery Outcomes Laboratory’s objective is to collect and maintain a database of patients with these conditions who have been treated with open or endovascular surgery. By collecting large data sets and utilizing statistical methodologies to analyze this data we hope to elicit the efficacy and safety of various open surgical and endovascular procedures and how this relates to short and long term patient outcomes.
Advances in technology and techniques in the treatment of these conditions have also been at the forefront of scientific inquiry. As our work continues we hope to analyze our data sets to investigate the use of various devices and techniques and how they relate to patient outcomes as well.
By studying these large data sets we hope to advance the understanding and treatment strategies of vascular neurological diseases including: stroke, cerebral aneurysms, cerebral arterio-venous malformations, cerebral vasospasm, carotid atherosclerosis, intracranial atherosclerosis, moya-moya disease, and pseudotumor cerebri.
