Target Audience

Neurosurgery & Orthopedic Spine Attendings, Fellows, Senior Residents interested in spine.

Capacity

8 stations with 4 attendees at each station. 1-2 Faculty/Station

Learning Objectives

• Understand the surgical anatomy and approaches to the operative spine from occiput to the pelvis

• Describe indications for surgical stabilization and instrumentation in patients with trauma, deformity, tumor and degenerative diseases of the spine

• Compare & contrast minimally invasive and traditional open approaches to spine surgery

• Outline the diversity of surgical treatment of spinal disorders & promote evidence-based strategies toward understanding of how surgical intervention effects pain & functional outcomes in spine patients
