Background
Elias Shaaya, MD is a neurosurgery resident at Brown Neurosurgery, originally from Beirut, Lebanon. His research interests include spinal cord injury, neuromodulation, spinal imaging, and endovascular neurosurgery. He is currently collaborating with the Borton Lab on the Intelligent Spinal Interface project. An avid fiction reader and news buff, Elias also enjoys exploring new restaurants and cuisines, attending concerts with his co-residents, and going to CrossFit. He has greatly enjoyed the collaborative and welcoming environment at Brown Neurosurgery and values the support and mentorship the program has provided.
