Background
Elias Shaaya, MD is a fourth-year neurosurgery resident at Brown Neurosurgery. His research interests include patient outcomes, spinal cord injury, and minimally invasive spine techniques. He is currently involved with research at the Borton Lab. An avid fiction reader and news buff, Elias also enjoys exploring new restaurants and cuisines, attending concerts with his co-residents, and going to CrossFit. He has greatly enjoyed the collaborative and welcoming environment at Brown Neurosurgery and values the support and mentorship the program has provided.
